Why 16 mm hoops are ideal for cross stitch
The 16 mm depth is widely considered the sweet spot for cross stitch. It offers a stronger, more reliable grip than slimmer hoops, keeping your fabric drum‑tight while you stitch. This extra stability is especially helpful for Aida and evenweave, which can slip or loosen in narrow frames.
The deeper profile also feels more comfortable to hold, giving your hands a solid, balanced surface during longer stitching sessions. Whether you’re a beginner learning tension or an experienced stitcher working on detailed designs, a 16 mm hoop provides the control and consistency you need.
If you prefer a hoop that supports your stitching rather than fighting against it, 16 mm is the perfect choice.
